Welcome to Oslo Blood Center!

Please observe that to be registered as a blood donor you must be fully fluent in English orally and in writing.

You need to have a Norwegian social security number and approved ID documents.

The blood center reserves the right to reject donors where the communication does not work as intended.

For the pilot period we ask that you only make appointments in our donation center at Ullevål sykehus.

To donate blood you will need to:

• be generally fit and well
• be aged between 18 and 65
• weigh more than 50kg
• have suitable veins (we will check these before you donate)
• meet all donor eligibility criteria (we will check this with you before you donate)

You can't donate blood if you:

• have had cancer or other serious medical condtions
• have some heart conditions
• have lived in Great Britain for > 1 year in total between 1980-1996, or received blood, platelets, plasma or any other blood products in Great Britain in this time interval.
• have tested positive for HIV or are a carrier of hepatitis B or C
• have had an organ transplant
• have injected non-prescribed drugs including body-building and injectable tanning agents.
• have piercing in mucous membranes at the time of donation.
• have lived in Africa south of Sahara for > 5 years in total.

There are other medical conditions and/or medications that may mean you can't donate, and also some health, travel and lifestyle reasons that means you have to wait to donate blood. More information can be found here (lenke).
