General

Following an acute infection of any type, 2 weeks of deferral following resolving symptoms.

If you have received antibiotic treatment, please defer for 2 weeks after end of treatment.

 

Serious infection (if you were admitted to hospital) leads to 3 months of deferral.

If you suffer from chronic infection you can not donate blood.

Special cases

Chicken pox/herpes zoster: 1 month deferral after sympom resolvment/end of treament.

If someone in you household has chicken pox AND you have not had it, please defer for 3 weeks from symptom start of household member.

Brucellosis: 2 years of deferral after fully healed

Osteomyelitis: 2 years of deferral after fully healed
